There is something I really like about the end of a year and the start of a new one. It’s a great opportunity to reflect, but also make new plans. 2017 has been the most incredible year for us with the opportunity to travel in the USA, and 2018 will bring new adventures. Jack Daniel’s Distillery & Lynchburg Tennessee

After leaving Birmingham, Alabama, the next stop on our road trip was Nashville, Tennessee. After a bit of research I realised that the Jack Daniel’s distillery was only a little bit of a detour from our route. Neither of us are huge fans of Jack Daniel’s, but we’ve see the town of Lynchburg so many times on their TV adverts so we had to visit.

Birmingham Civil Rights Institute, Alabama

Following 2 days in New Orleans we headed north, driving up to Birmingham, Alabama. We had only planned this as an overnight stop on the way up to Nashville, so we didn’t see much of the city. The thing I really wanted to do here was to visit the Civil Rights Institute.

48 Hours In New Orleans

We’re currently on a road trip seeing a small part of the Deep South USA. We flew into New Orleans on Saturday and spent 2 days there, before picking up a rental car and heading north.
