Getty Center, Los Angeles

A few weeks ago a couple of my friends invited me to join them for a day out at the Getty Center in LA. It’s not often I go to LA during the week, so it made a really nice change to spend a day out of the Antelope Valley with two lovely ladies.

The Getty Center is a famous arts centre, known for it’s gardens, architecture and amazing views over LA. The art at the Getty is varied with pre 20th century European paintings, drawings, manuscripts, and an outdoor sculpture display to name just a few.

I found it quite different to most galleries and museums I’ve previously visited in Europe, and to be honest was a little underwhelmed. I don’t confess to know a lot about art, but I’m really into history, so I like to read about the history of the pieces displayed, which there wasn’t a lot of.

The building and gardens were lovely, and so photogenic, so as you can see I took a lot of pictures!
